Yes, that's again because we are living in a patriarchy and here women are shamed, harassed and burdened with many things including solo child care (both nurturing and financial) and also with curtailed job opportunities and salaries if a woman gets pregnant with a man she is not in a committed relationship with. We don't bring up our men to be responsible about where and when not to "spread their seeds" (on the contrary we have some very disturbing collective notion about manliness, the more body count you have, the more manly you are; or that protection is for unmanly men); neither do we hold men responsible for causing a pregnancy, instead we crack down on the pregnant and single women in general; but at the same time, in our patriarchal social system, money and property ironically is passed down from men to men, families are mostly patrilocal (or, nuclear), but almost never matrilocal. If we really hold women responsible for their pregnancy, then shouldn't we have a spcial structure where those women can actually be responsible for the children and support them by themselves? Shouldn't we have matrilocality and matriliny everywhere? But no, patriarchy first says men should get to f*ck as many women as they want, then says those women are to be shamed and outcast and financially and socially punished for "spreading their legs", for " not protecting their virginity". This is why women are so selective about who they sleep with, because that is the only way to survive in this f*cked-up patriarchal system.
