There is data and plenty of researches on them. Many of those "researches" sure show that women are hypergamous, but those can't be called researches. They are just stupid projections, like you decide the conclusion first, then twist the data and arrive to that conclusion. Also, what those "studies" hugely ignore is the context, socio-economincal dynamic of the current society, which is patriarchal, patrilineal and also mostly patrilocal. Those are not accurate researches. On the contrary, there are many actual researches that show everything is conditional, men and women's behavior and preference change as per social conditioning. So yeah, there's no accurate research that showing any such trend.
Now, there is real life. Even if you focus in real life too, you will see there's no such pattern of women being hypergamous. Our society is largely patriarchal, and most men and women are not that individualistic. So, many women choose rich and powerful men not because of their innate nature or anything, but simply because of the fact that money and power lifts your life so much. Similarly, there are always tons of men after the few rich and powerful women too, but women can judge them more accurately, as most of the women grow up seeing a pattern of men and their peers deceiving and using women, so can discard them more effectively. While men do some very idiotic thing. They jingle their purse in front of women, but when some women come being attracted to their money, and only want that, and maybe shift to the next more powerful and rich man, the pathetic asses of these men whine saying you don't love me, you just love my money, you are a slut, a gold-digger yada yada yada.
And you literally wrote feminine men are insecure and have low self-esteem, and that's why they would tolerate masculine women. This is why I wrote you are projecting your own feelings on the men you don't like, but know women want. It's literally There what you wrote, so playing the victim card is not a good strategy here.🙃

Not the initial for Man/Male. After all, this letter is not only reserved for that. It's the initial of my name, and I am a woman.
