In some countries, pink was men's color, gorgeous clothes and ornaments were only worn by prestigious men. Women were not allowed to wear the things men wore, were not allowed to wear shoes, lower class women were not allowed to cover the upper part of their body. All these helped "preserve the then masculinity" or whatever the hell that concept is.
So, there's absolutely no connection between nature and gender norms. And, evolution are not always natural, eg, people used to have much more body hairs, other animals still have that, but in human, it hugely reducing. Why? Because of society-imposed rule on women to shave their body hairs and being shamed if they don't, being praised and romanticized if they do. So, as a result, via evolution, body hairs in humans are reducing in general (It'll reduce more if most of the men start shaving too. Men attaching this body-hair removal with women's hygiene, sexual attractiveness, or, the chance of having babies with much less body hair and hence "much pretty" should shave too, because all these should apply on the men too). So, what I'm saying is not all evolutions are natural, many of them are because of how as a society we are functioning. Hence, these are not some kind of ultimate truths or the rules of nature.

Not the initial for Man/Male. After all, this letter is not only reserved for that. It's the initial of my name, and I am a woman.
