I wonder why you read this article and think that it's demanding from you (as a man) to soothe the writer's anxiety about the men she faced. Because I read it (and yes, I'm a woman, but I undertand things from a non-personal pov just fine), and I saw that she is indeed directly addressing the hetero men, but not asking them anywhere to apply balm on her wound or anything, she is wanting men to read and give it a thought. But you, just like another commentor here pointed out, being sensitive without a reason.
