Exactly this! I don't understand why my male classmates made this assumption about us the girls in general. I am also seeing the same thing in my workplace. One classmate was randomly telling me you must love to be a daddy's princess. I could not bring myself to reply to him that till date there are days when my "daddy" is creating huge problems in our house and me and my mom are trying our best not to get too much affected by those. Another boy, when all of us college pals were going to a restaurant, randomly commented, "why do you girls wear make-up? boys don't notice those things much, neither do we want you to dress up that much, you know". I, again, was spellbound and could not reply. I normally don't use make-up (and many girls and boys have problem in that too, as if I am doing this to not my face or body, but theirs. One day, a guy serving food at our college canteen commented something in this line, why I don't wear make-up, I look old. That day too, I could not ask him if our college was paying him in this way, that he gets to see the college girls pretty and dolled up and that's a part of his compensation), but that day I was wearing eyeliner. I should have asked him to mind his own business and try not to be so narcissistic, I didn't put on make-up to catch those guys' eyes, that's so insulting to myself too.

But time and again, I faced such comments from boys and men. In office, the men will ask random girls what they do with so much salary. Well hello, they Earn the salary, just like you do, or, in many cases, by doing more work than you do she earns less. And you don't get to say what she does with it. I, e.g., run my household with that money, I am the sole breadwinner (and I don't like mentioning things like these because they sound stupid and bragging, but I feel I should, these guys need the blunt reality check). And, let's assume a girl is spending a major share of their salary shopping and vacationing. Then also, she is providing livelihood to many people, you asses. Your, some of your friends' and relatives' livelihoods are depending on that money she spends, so just stfu you morons!

Not the initial for Man/Male. After all, this letter is not only reserved for that. It's the initial of my name, and I am a woman.
